View of Sutton

We hope that you will find the site an interesting source of information on the Sutton area, its natural and built environment and what we (and you!) can do to protect and enhance these.

On this site you will find information on Sutton itself (see "Sutton is Special") , its biodiversity, recycling in the area, the history of our Group and our participation in the National Tidy Towns Competition, and links to local organisations. Whether you are a resident in the area, or a visitor, we hope you will enjoy the selection of photos of Sutton that we have placed in the Gallery.

Clean up of beach at Sutton Dinghy Club, Sunday 1 May 2016, 11am.

Sutton Tidy Towns, in conjunction with other groups from the local community, will be holding a clean-up of the beach from Sutton Dinghy Club towards Red Rock, on Sunday 1 May 2016 at 11am. Participants will meet at Sutton Dinghy Club. This event is a follow-up to hugely successful clean-ups of the beach at Sutton Creek that took place on 14 February and 2 April.

We urge everyone, from children to retirees, to join us and enjoy some fresh air, meet their neighbours, and help keep our Sutton beautiful.

Annual Church Gate Collection

Sutton Tidy Towns will be holding its annual Church Gate Collection outside St Fintan's Church on Saturday 7 May (after 6:30pm mass) and Sunday 8 May (after 10.30am, 12noon and 6.30pm masses) .

The Collection is Sutton Tidy Town's main source of income, and all monies raised will go into keeping Sutton looking its best. All contributions will be greatly appreciated.

We would like to thank the people of Sutton for their generosity in past collections, and St Fintan's Parish for its continued support of Sutton Tidy Towns.

On-going Help Required

Though our range of activity has widened in recent years, our core activity remains our regular working parties where we pick up litter, remove graffiti, weed and do light landscaping in the area.
We urge you to join us in the following:

• Our regular working parties- from April to September we meet on:

Saturday mornings at 11:00am and Monday evenings at 7:30pm outside St Fintan's Church.

Our targeted working parties, where we select a particular area/estate and invite residents, in advance, to help us tidy and landscape.

Remember, you needn't commit to participating in every work session - by just turning up as and when you can, you can help make a real difference to our area.

All equipment (gloves, litter pickers, paint, brushes and gardening equipment) is provided, and Sutton Tidy Towns is fully insured.
